A Note About Image Sizes

Hello, Ruby fans.

The last month or so, I’ve been posting the original images instead of shrinking and compressing them. My guess is some of you are printing these photos and the larger, uncompressed files are better for you. Whether you’re printing or not, you can always see the original by just clicking the image and either viewing it in a new window (or you could always save it locally and then view or print it). Depending on your screen resolution, you might also have to mouse over the photo then, and then when you see the magnifying glass, click to enlarge. You might want to do that for today’s photo, for instance, because the look on her face is particularly sweet, and you can’t see it well at the posted size.

The down side of doing this is that if you’re on a slower connection, you may be finding that the photos take an awfully long time to load. If that’s the case, please leave a comment and let me know. I can always go back to making them smaller, and of course am happy to send the originals to anyone who would like them. But if most of you have a fast connection, I’ll stick with the large photos.

Ok, that’s all. Happy viewing.

Love,
Evil Aunt Kate

A Note to RSS Feeders

I’m finally moving the last of the older photos (October 2010 – February 2011) over from my site, so I apologize if your feed suddenly makes it look as if there are a ton of new photos. Rest assured it’ll never happen again.

The Absence Explained

Just in case you’re wondering where the photos are: the Chandlers still don’t have power after the Halloween snow storm. I am sure the photos will continue once everything is back to normal. And don’t worry: the fireplace is keeping everyone warm!

Ruby Cat

Ruby actually has two Halloween costumes. The first, you saw this morning. The second is one that Jenny wore when she was an adorable little sprout. Here’s a view of that:

And now Ruby carries on the tradition.
